PowerPack tutorial

One of the things the SCAPE lab is famous for is building PowerPack. PowerPack uses software and hardware to monitor the power consumption of a computer at the component level. For instance you can see how much juice the CPU or hard drive are using.

PowerPack is a tricky bit of kit to replicate so we let people use our test cluster Dori, which has a PowerPack node. To make the software stack more accessible for users, the SCAPE lab students have written a how to on our Wiki: http://scape.cs.vt.edu/scapewiki/doku.php?id=scape:powerpack_2.0
